About Us

In 1974, a group of dedicated individuals endeavored to create a better living environment for people with physical disabilities in Columbus. Over the past 50 years, Creative Living has provided an extremely unique service: blending federal funding through HUD with individual donations and corporate giving, providing a safety net of affordable, accessible housing and 24/7 support for people with complex health conditions that require use of a wheelchair for mobility.

Without your support, our residents would experience challenges in being able to support themselves and avoid institutionalization. With restrictions in state and local funding many residents are left with limited funding and a dwindling supply of caregivers willing to support them with low compensation. Creative Living is the only known provider in the U.S. that offers that bridge from skilled care to community living that doesn’t rely on Medicaid funding to support its residents.
